Fishing Report – April 15, 2025
Location: San José del Cabo, Baja California Sur

General Conditions:
Sunny skies and light winds all week. Sea conditions have been excellent with temperatures ranging from 76°F to 80°F. Clear blue water has moved closer to shore, attracting pelagic species earlier than expected.

Top Species Caught:

  • Striped Marlin: 100–140 lbs, most released, found 12–18 miles offshore
  • Roosterfish: up to 50 lbs, aggressively hitting live bait near the beach
  • Dorado (Mahi Mahi): 10–25 lbs, found near floating debris and buoys

Best Techniques:

  • Trolling ballyhoo and lures offshore for marlin
  • Casting live caballito inshore for roosterfish
  • Light tackle near surface trash lines for dorado

Productive Areas:

  • Punta Gorda to Vinorama (offshore)
  • Palmilla Beach and La Playita (inshore)

Weekly Highlight:
Our guests aboard the 26ft super panga landed 3 marlin and released 2 on a 6-hour trip, while nearshore clients had a blast with big roosterfish on surface bait.
