Los Cabos Bite Snapshot by Zone

Offshore

Gordo Banks

Marlin hold where tuna schools stack up. Early passes through the high spot typically produce the most consistent shots before midday wind picks up.

Mid-Range

Cardón to Punta Gorda

Dorado work the edges and weed lines when conditions are clean. Productive trolling water on calmer mornings, especially after offshore current breaks set up.

Inshore

East Cape Beach Line

Roosterfish on poppers and live sardines along the sand. Catch and release is strongly encouraged to protect one of our most iconic inshore species.

Los Cabos Fishing Report FAQ

The most common questions anglers ask before reading our Cabo fishing report and booking a charter.

01.How often is the Los Cabos fishing report updated?
We publish a new entry as our charters come in from the water. The feed above shows the most recent posts from our captains and crew, so you can check what is biting today and review the week's pattern before booking.
02.What is biting in Los Cabos right now?
Year-round target species in our area include striped marlin, black marlin, blue marlin, sailfish, yellowfin tuna, dorado (mahi mahi), wahoo, roosterfish and sierra mackerel. The mix shifts week to week with water temperature, bait movement and current. The latest daily entries show exactly what is hitting now.
03.Where do your Los Cabos fishing charters depart from?
All charters depart from Puerto Los Cabos Marina in San José del Cabo, on the quieter East Cape side of the Los Cabos region, away from the crowds of Cabo San Lucas.
04.What time do trips depart?
Standard departure is 6:10 am from Puerto Los Cabos Marina. We start early because the first light bite window is consistently the most productive in Los Cabos sportfishing.
05.Do I need a fishing license in Mexico?
Yes. Every angler on board must have a valid Mexican fishing license under CONAPESCA regulations. We can help arrange it quickly before your trip.
06.What if we don't catch anything?
Fishing is dynamic. Our captains adjust tactics, target species and zones throughout the day. Los Cabos offers year-round targets, so most trips produce action even when one species is slow.
07.How do I use a Los Cabos fishing report to plan my trip?
Look at three things in each entry: which species are most active that week, the zones being mentioned most often (Gordo Banks, Iman Bank, La Fortuna, East Cape), and what techniques are producing. If you let your captain know which report caught your eye when booking, the crew can tailor the trip accordingly.

The big companies are great, but Daliken is different. We are local, authentic and fishing is our life. That is why more and more anglers are choosing us.
