What You Can Catch in San José del Cabo
The waters around San José del Cabo and Puerto Los Cabos Marina give access to some of the most productive fishing grounds in the Pacific. Every photo in this gallery was taken on a real Daliken charter, with real guests and real local captains.
Fishing out of Puerto Los Cabos Marina keeps travel time short and productive time on the water high. Most targets — tuna, dorado, and roosterfish — are reachable within 30 minutes of departure. Marlin runs require 6–8 hours to cover the best offshore lanes, but the results speak for themselves.
Why San José del Cabo for Marlin Fishing?
San José del Cabo sits at the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez. That convergence creates the warm-water conditions that attract Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, and Black Marlin year-round, with peak action from June through November offshore the Gordo Banks and Iman Bank.
Unlike Cabo San Lucas which sees heavy shared-boat traffic, Puerto Los Cabos Marina offers private departures with shorter runs to the productive grounds. Guests at Hyatt Ziva, Zadún, Secrets, Dreams, Grand Velas, JW Marriott, Marquis, Palmilla, and other San José corridor hotels are typically 5–10 minutes from the dock.
