🎯 Hotspots of the Week

Gordo Banks

Most consistent for tuna right now. Schools sitting deeper mid-morning at 60–80 m. Live bait and chunk sardina are both effective. Occasional wahoo hit on the troll. Clean, deep blue water and light current.

Iman Bank

Lots of surface activity early — dorado, small tuna, and skipjack chasing bait. Ideal for 8-hour charters, and good chance for marlin encounters on the edges.

Inshore Zone

Sierra and bonito returning in numbers. Best action before 9 AM near Palmilla Point and La Fortuna using small spoons and sardina. Great fun on light tackle.

🎣 Captain Recommendations

Captain Pancho: “If you’re chasing tuna at Gordo, drop your bait deeper than usual. The fish are suspended mid-column. Keep a few fluorocarbon leaders ready — they’re getting smarter.”
Captain Rubén: “For dorado, look for any floating debris or color changes. Cast a live bait immediately — mahi are aggressive right now and usually travel in pairs.”
Captain Ulices: “Early morning trolling with small feathers or plugs near the rocks can produce sierra and bonito before sunrise — perfect for families or beginners.”
Captain Abaroa: “Keep an eye on the temperature break north of Iman. Wahoo love those edges — use wire leader and keep your speed over 8 knots.”
