
Fishing Report – April 15, 2025
Location: San José del Cabo, Baja California Sur
General Conditions:
Sunny skies and light winds all week. Sea conditions have been excellent with temperatures ranging from 76°F to 80°F. Clear blue water has moved closer to shore, attracting pelagic species earlier than expected.
Top Species Caught:
- Striped Marlin: 100–140 lbs, most released, found 12–18 miles offshore
- Roosterfish: up to 50 lbs, aggressively hitting live bait near the beach
- Dorado (Mahi Mahi): 10–25 lbs, found near floating debris and buoys
Best Techniques:
- Trolling ballyhoo and lures offshore for marlin
- Casting live caballito inshore for roosterfish
- Light tackle near surface trash lines for dorado
Productive Areas:
- Punta Gorda to Vinorama (offshore)
- Palmilla Beach and La Playita (inshore)
Weekly Highlight:
